TransRockies Announces New 3-Day MTB Stage Race in Moab - Moab Rocks
The organizers of
North America’s original mountain bike stage race, TransRockies, are bringing
their experience to the United States with the inaugural edition of Moab Rocks.
Moab Rocks is a 3-day
mountain bike stage race that takes riders over some of the best trails Moab
has to offer.
The 3-day event
will mix proven rider favorites including Porcupine Rim, Upper Porcupine
Singletrack, Amasa Back, and Jacob’s Ladder with new riding hot spots like
Captain Ahab and Mag 7 giving riders a full serving of true Moab mountain
The race runs
October 12th to 14th and features cross country racing
with timed enduro segments along the way.
Each stage will
be accompanied by a post race party including beer provided by Moab Brewery and
a wrap party and meal at Bar M Chuckwagon following the final stage.
Director of Marketing, Dan Savage, had this to say about the event, "We want to
provide riders with great racing but even more importantly we want them to have
fun in an atmosphere they can enjoy and connect with each other. We also want
to highlight some of the great work Moab has done developing new trails over
the past few years”

TransRockies has proven organizational skills and their experience directing
multi-day mountain bike races is unsurpassed in North America, that experience
and skill should translate into a top-notch first-year event.

Get ready for an
amazing season ending mountain bike festival in Moab on October 12th to 14th. Long
known as one of the world's most iconic mountain biking destinations, Moab has
played host to riders from far and wide.
Moab Rocks takes
some of Moab's best classic and new routes including Captain Ahab, Porcupine
Rim and Mag 7 and combines them into a 3-day masterpiece of all mountain XC
riding with timed descents.
Moab Rocks will
present not only the best in Moab riding, but also the best in Moab culture,
with daily socials featuring beer from Moab Brewery, served at Swanney Park and
a wrap up party at Bar M Chuckwagon.
In recent years,
the Moab mountain biking community has worked tirelessly building epic
singletrack trails and growing its reputation as a mountain bike Mecca. Moab
Rocks will work in partnership with the Moab Trails Alliance, Moab
Trail Mix, and under permit from the Bureau of Land Management and the Manti-La
Sal National Forest.
Events pioneered Mountain Bike Stage Racing in North America with the
TransRockies Challenge in 2002, and the 3-day race format with the TR3 starting
in 2009. Poison Spider Bicycles has brought its expertise in Moab's mountain
bike trails and community to Moab Rocks.
